Today I decided to have fun with some of my level one hostess sets. I grabbed some color inspiration from the Curtain Call Color Challenge. Their colors for this week are: Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Cherry Cobbler, & More Mustard. A very fun group that I don't usually mix together. It's always fun to give a new combo a try! They are a super rich group when placed together. I think my natural inclination is to add a bit of Night of Navy to this group, so I really had to restrain myself from adding that one. It's been forever since I used my XL Bird Punch & I've missed it a bit. So, out he came. I've never even inked the flower image from Punch Potpourri which made that a must this time around! I love the way in which sentiments that just don't quite fit in my Word Window Punch work perfectly inside the Modern Label Punch. Some times I use that one as just a back ground layer & other times it's great all on its own! The elegance of the "thank you" from Because I care makes it a favorite of mine, but I found I didn't use it as much as I could have because it didn't fit my punch. That was until I got the Modern Label of course. I'm such a punch addict! The little circles with the rhinestones add just enough glitz to my sentiment so it stands out well on its own without having to use any Whisper White to make it pop. All in all a fun card for a Friday!
Come explore the world of stamping with me!

Hydrangea Thank You
The first time I saw a hydrangea and learned its name was on a cold day in Pittsburgh well over ten years ago. My husband (boyfriend then) and I were touring Phipps Conservatory while they had an incredible display of these lovely flowers. We no longer felt the damp chill of outside, but were transported. That's what I thought of when I saw the focal image from the Because I Care hostess set. Fitting then that I haven't used it until this chilly November morning. I paired it up with the PPC Color Challenge choices of the week: Bravo Burgundy, Concord Crush, and Baja Breeze. I also took the opportunity to try some techniques I've been wanting to incorporate for a while. The focal image was an easy fit for making a window of sorts using my 1 1/4" square punch & I practiced with my new Crop-a-dile to add a few little eyelets. Now, I just need to make its twin to send off and one for my display boards!

Silhouette Sentiments Fall Bird
The Mojo Monday sketch for today really worked to get my fall card juices flowing. I've been laughing about my orientation for the Silhouette Sentiments bird on the "Silhouette Sentiments Square" card since class on Saturday. One of you was kind enough to point out that my bird was fighting gravity in a big way. He seems much more at peace when the branch lays flat, huh? :)I've been itching to put the Itty Bitty Bits combination of stamps, punches, and buttons to good use & this seemed a great opportunity. Tiny, but super fun, don't you think?
The ribbon from the sketch didn't quite fit when I was finished designing the card front, so I decided to forgo it this time around. Otherwise I stayed pretty faithful to the design.
