Class Options for Feb 9th

 I traditionally only post one card at a time, but I find that if I have a whole bunch completed then some never make the light of day.  So, today I decided just to toss them all out at once. :)  Now, I don't have to fret about writing and dating each one and you can get a look at them all.  They are all in the running for class on Sunday Feb 9th along with some others that are still milling about in my head.  Not sure which will make the cut yet, but I'm interested in hear your opinion on the matter.  The cute little Mojo Valentine from Tuesday is a sure thing.  What do you think about the others?

Stamp Camp Feel Goods Vase

There are extra points for creativity for this card.  Isn't it just the cutest?  And where, you may ask, did they find the stamp & framelet for that little vase?  Well, that's simple.  It's actually the top of a Christmas ornament from the Holiday Ornaments collection.  Isn't that clever?  All the credit goes to Rochelle Heart from Stamp Camp West.  ;)

And check out the creativity involved in transforming the simple flower from Nature Walk into quite the colorful bouquet.  I was excited to pick out my own bits and pieces to create the flowers.  I'm sure each person at Stamp Camp created something different.  That's one of my favorite parts of stamping!
 
As promised yesterday, this card also features the International Bazaar designer paper.  It has quite the different feel though, don't you think?  It's one of the things I love the most about Stampin' Up designer paper packs--- you can make so many very different projects all from the same pack.

Natural Composition Mojo/ Mojo Monday #251

Whenever Stampin' Up releases a new catalog, I go right to the designer series paper to pick which pack I'll buy first. :)  This time around, the choice was clear: Natural Composition Specialty.  I love the neutral color & the embossed images.  By stamping on Crumb Cake card stock using Versamark & clear embossing powder, I was able to create a perfect accent with the Nature Walk stamp set.  Mojo Monday gave me the sketch idea.  I wanted to keep the color pallet simple, so I stuck with Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, and Primrose Petals.  The Primrose I needed to mute a bit, so I took out my sponges and went to work using my Soft Suede ink.  Elegant and simple.  Just the way I like it. 

Blossom Punch Butterfly

I love to look through the Stampin' Up catalogs not only to get a glimpse of all the fun new products coming our way, but also to get inspiration for new projects! When I saw the new Blossom Punch used to create a simple yet elegant butterfly, I couldn't wait to try it myself. I went back to my favorite image from the new Mixed Bunch set & punched it out with the Blossom Punch. Then, I trimmed off a couple of petals & curled the wings a bit to make the butterfly. The body for my little friend came from the left over bits after using my Lattice Die. I've saved them knowing that they would come in handy eventually! To color in my flowers, I took out my Aquapainter and just dabbed ink off the lid of my Elegant Eggplant ink pad. Did you check out the ribbon in my little bow? It's a pre-view of the great things to come in the 2012 Sale-a-Bration promotion! One benefit of being a demonstrator is that Sale-a-Bration started early for us! Jealous? Tiny Butterfly Bliss Thanks

I find myself in need of little cards all the time. Perhaps I want to leave one on the teacher's desk after I substitute or I want to stick one into a bag of stamping goodies or I want to just leave one around to be unexpectedly found. They're super fun to make because they are so small. Don't let this fool you though, they can be some of the best cards! This little guy is just 3"x3" but it's full of goodies from three stamp sets! It all started with a scrap So Saffron Circle that I found in my collection of punched left overs. (That's how many of my tiny cards start out.) Everything else just fell into place. I'm particularly pleased with my use of the large background image from the Bliss Sale-a-Bration set. It works nicely with this smaller format. So, brighten some one's day and leave a little TGIF card for them tomorrow. It will leave you both smiling!

Masculine Bird Birthday/ Mojo Monday 179

Today I set myself a few extra challenges to go with the Mojo Monday sketch. When I saw the layout I told myself I needed to use Springtime Vintage as the designer paper square & that my three dots would be eyelets. That didn't give me the impression that I'd be making a masculine card, but that's exactly where I ended up. Springtime Vintage is pretty girly, but these green stripes aren't! I also brought out a few old friends. I used Lovely as a Tree in the background (the first SU set I ever bought) and dusted off my Cajun Craze paper. Far too often I find that I only bring this great color out for fall cards. I had the same issue with Really Rust. Every now and then, it's important to remind myself that it's a great color all the time! Otherwise, why would I have used it as the inspiration for my house color?

Nature Walk Collage/Color Throwdown #129

Whew! You know how your muscles feel when you exercise with out stretching enough first? That's sort of how my brain feels right now. I've never done collage stamping & this card is way out of my comfort zone. I think I like it though! My husband suggested I get the Nature Walk set when I first showed it to him in the Occasions Mini catalog because it's so different than anything else I have. The detailed natural images fit me so well, but I wasn't sure if I would be able to figure out how to make them work together. I am so glad I got the Sanded background at the same time. The two work so well together. Then, I saw a tutorial on Splitcoast of how to make your own stitched ribbon flowers. Had to try that out too. Of course, I put just about every embellishment you can think of in the center of that flower before I decided on this Jumbo Brad. (Literally over a half hour of tinkering.) The Antique Brads look great in the center too...maybe next time! My only problem is, I might like this card enough to have it as part of my classes tomorrow. Sigh. Time to write up some instructions... Just when I think I have everything ready & planned in advance, I go and change it up! Thanks to the folks over at Color Throwdown for the color choices today. I did add a bit of chocolate for my ink, but I think that's okay, right?
