Good Fortune Kitty

This project is a bit of a commissioned piece. My husband told me he needed a red card with a gold cat on it. Oh, and said that swirls might be nice too. And this is what he got.
I didn't actually have a stamp of the Lucky Cat I think he was going for, but this should do the trick. It was such fun to emboss the gold swirls that I think I'll try that again with another card. I especially enjoyed putting them on the little red detail piece. It's always fun when things come together quickly and well.
Jeff insists it needs a red envelope too, but he may be on his own there. Whisper White will just have to do.

Wings of Friendship Shimmer Emboss

This card is sort of my tribute to Almost Amethyst. I will miss it when it is gone, so we're going to use it while it's still around. That, and I really like making things shimmer with Iridescent Ice emboss powder! My husband thinks the card would look even better with a sentiment embossed in the same powder in the lower right corner of the Top Note. He may be right, but I'm not sure which one to use. This could go for a variety of occasions. I'm puzzled as to why it took me so long to take a closer look at this Hostess Set. I'm so pleased that I did.

Polished Stone Frame

This is one of those projects that didn't turn out at all like I expected. The plan was for a polished stone Top Note with the center removed by the Movers & Shapers die. That's not quite how it worked out though, as you can see. Sometimes you keep what you thought you would toss & toss what you thought you would keep! It's good to just go with it though & not try too hard to force what clearly isn't working. Some days that is easier than others though...

Of the Earth Emboss Resist

It's a hostess set bonanza today! Both of these sets are level one hostess sets & they seem to work so well together. I've been wanting to try emboss resist on designer paper for a while now. I never seem to have the right image/paper combo though. So, I thought I would give this one a try.
The circle of designer paper is from Cottage Wall while the strip actually comes from Merry Moments. It's not just for Christmas any more! Speaking of Christmas...I'm planning for Christmas in June events. Stay tuned for more info on that to come.

PCC #9

I saw this lovely little flower from Wings of Friendship on a sample recently & wondered how I had missed it all this time. Luckily, I had also just ordered the set. Perfect timing! It's one of our great level one hostess sets &, no doubt, you'll be seeing more of it in the future.
This week's color challenge struck a cord with me. I love them together! It's a shame that Brilliant Blue's days are numbered, but I'll make good use of it while it lasts!
