Spooky Banner

Here's a project you won't want to miss!  In the new Holiday Catalog SU offers several banner kits.  By far my favorite, is the SPOOKY banner.  Isn't it fun?  All you need is the Banner Simply Created Kit and the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit and a few Big Shot goodies.  Or, you can skip the big shot and order the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit in place of the Banner Simply Created kit.  The Build a Banner kit comes complete with stencils to create the letters & backgrounds.  I'm not much of a stencil person so I opted to use my Big Shot Alphabet die.  Goodness knows I have the toys, I may as well use them.

My hasty photo doesn't show off the banner as well as I would like, but I think you get the idea.  All the big pieces (skull, bat, and spider web) are this fantastic black glitter that shimmers nicely. And the banner sections are WAY larger than they looked in the catalog--- each is about 5in across & 7in long.   Such a fun finished product!!  I can't wait to hang it up.

Wicked Halloween

I am determined to not let the little embossing smudge I made under the hat ruin this card for me. I love it. When the new catalog first came out I was completely taken by Wicked Cool. I've been looking for a fun Halloween set & who could resist those boots? Lucky for me, I accidentally ordered a craft Basic Black stamp pad when one of my customers wanted a classic one. I fixed the mistake for her, but decided to keep the craft. What a happy accident! When combined with the black embossing powder, it gives the hat & bats such great shine. Do you recognise the broomstick? It's from one of our Build-a-bear dies. While it may be intended to dress up a bear, I find it does quite well all on its own. I've been putting off making a card with this set because I really wanted to make something super fun with it & I was intimidated. I liked the set so much it was almost as if I didn't want to let it (or more accurately myself) down. Silly, huh? I'm going to go with "mission accomplished" on this one though.
