C is for Cat Color Challenge/PPC #12

Such fun colors of this week's PPC Color Challenge! Sage Shadow, Perfect Plum, Soft Suede, & Bravo Burgundy are all colors I enjoy but that I use too little. It took me a bit to decide how to use them, but I decided they would be great with a "kissed" cat. I had a little trouble getting the kissing technique to work with my little cat friend. Perhaps the Sage color is a bit darker than others I've used before?

The end result is kind of fun though. :) All of these great colors are slated to retire at the end of June, so if you are interested in ordering any of them please contact me ASAP. Stampin' Up has let us know supplies are limited & many colors won't make it all the way to the end of June.

Shimmer Paint Emboss Resist

Today I utilized our Frost White Shimmer Paint & mixed it with reinkers to make a shiny inked background. I have been wanting to test this technique since regionals last month. It's a little hard to photograph, but the effect is pretty spiffy. I was excited to learn that all of our Shimmer Paints from the Holiday Mini Catalog are still available & wanted to learn new ways to put them to use. This is my favorite so far.

Of course, I also did some Emboss/Resist on the cardstock first. My Boho Blooms background is embossed in white so that the ink (plus paint) doesn't stick to the images. I love anything in stamping that feels like magic & this process definitely qualifies!
