Elegant Bouquet Embossed Mojo

Happy Monday to all! This week, I'm celebrating a bit of a milestone. The Accidental Stamper reached over 10,000 all time page views last week! :) Thanks to all of you for visiting and taking a look at what I create. It's such fun to share with all of you.

Today, I took another shot at the Double Embossed Technique. Isn't it fun? I just inked up my Elegant Bouquet Folder using my brayer & Versamark ink, ran it through the Big Shot, & embossed with Silver Emboss Powder. Simple, but great! My mom wanted to see how this technique was done and she insists that you must see it in person. And if mom says so...

All of the stamped images for this one are from the Simply Said set--- one of my very favorites. Since it's Monday, the sketch comes from the excellent folks over at Mojo Monday. Must keep it short today, I need to take mom off to the airport. Happy Stamping!!

Fun with Embossing!

It's always such fun to have a new catalog! Today's card features a product line I was super excited to find in the Summer Mini, colored embossing powders! Aren't they fun? Right now they come in Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, & Melon Mambo. I hope that the list expands with the new Idea Book & Catalog. Fingers are crossed. :) Today's card was inspired by a pair of pants worn by a super well dressed three year old in the preschool class I worked with a few weeks ago. I giggled when I saw her pants exactly matched my new embossing color pallet & the Flower Fest stamp set. Too much fun. I kept things super simple this time around & just inked my images using Versamark. Then I embossed using my colored powders. It was like playing with puff paint on T-Shirts! Magic. Next time, I may try mixing in Iridescent Ice powder for a shimmery colored effect. There are lots of possibilities here!

Simply Said Lattice Color Throwdown #130

I tried to keep things super simple for this week's Color Throwdown. The colors they put out there for us this time around were: Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, & So Saffron. I like the basic feel of this card, but it may still be a WIP (work in progress). I can't kick the feeling that I'm missing something... I had fun cutting up the Lattice Die into the little corner flowers & I adore the Simply Said bouquet so it was great to pair them together. I'm so pleased that the folks at the Color Throwdown included Tangerine Tango because it's a color I don't use as often as others & I don't think I would have come up with this combo on my own. In fact, I was nervous about the Tangerine layer at first. Then I tried it out and really liked how it made all the colors pop! That's the great thing about trying challenges-- they get you to stretch just a bit. :)

Circle Circus Mojo

My Mojo Monday comes a day late, but I'm a big fan of "better late than never"! I had a chance to play with the Circle Circus set for the first time in a while and was struck by how well the Cherry Blossom Embosslit went with this set. Therefore, I had to pair them together on a card. :) I may have gone a little flower crazy on this one, but I'll blame that on being a little bleary headed after spending WAY too long in traffic on the way home tonight (best to do a post in the evening when you work early in the morning). No complaints though, as it appears that the traffic was caused by an accident. I much rather take 30 mins to move 1 mile than be involved in anything that nasty! I tried something new with my ribbon this time around and I think it worked out pretty well. What do you think of this make-shift "bow"?

Night of Navy Magic

I decided to try out a fun new technique to get my Tuesday rolling this morning. It's called "back magic", but, since I've used Night of Navy on this card and because of the odd places this post could appear with a google search for those words, I've renamed it slightly. :) Of course, there is a tutorial over on Splitcoast. It's pretty simple though. Just stamp on dark cardstock using White Craft ink. Then heat set. Next, you color over your stamped image using colored pencils (I used my Watercolor Pencils) and add some flourishes with a White Gel Pen. Nothing to it! I had more trouble with my photography skills than the card! I think you can still get the idea from this pic though. Try it yourself and let me know how it goes! I'm off to make the most of the last day of winter break for the school district. I could be back in the substitute game tomorrow. One never can tell!

Love Mingos (Take One)

Hello! So sorry for the prolonged & unintentional disappearance. I ended up working five days last week instead of two. That combined with the normal holiday craziness left NO time for stamping. I have to admit that I feel a bit rusty today. There's been a card itching at my brain for about a week though and I just had to get it out. This is the first attempt. Perhaps there will be another. While looking at some of the stamps from Simply Said not too long ago, I thought that one of the "flowers" would make a great palm tree if combined with the stem stamp from Cottage Garden. I knew I would have to give it a try at my next opportunity. What do you think?The card layout is very loosely based on the Mojo Monday sketch from last Monday (the day I intended to make this card!). It was nice to have training wheels of a sort to get me back in the groove! You'll be seeing much more of the Valentine Defined set from the soon to be released Occasions Mini. I think it's a real winner & it has flamingos!!! How can you go wrong with them? I hope you all are getting the itch for card making too. Check out my SU website for January class dates. Simply Said Flower Mojo

Huzzah! My back ordered Simply Said set has arrived. I just had to use it for today's Mojo Monday sketch. It's such a cherry group of stamps that I thought this polka dot paper from Woodland Walk was a natural choice to brighten up this Monday. It's one of those wake up with a porcupine in your throat kind of days, so I needed a little perking up. I matched up the littlest heart from the Heart to Heart punch to provide a backing for one of my Bitty Buttons. It fits just right which is why there isn't a tiny heart punch in the punch pack that goes with the buttons and the Itty Bitty Bits stamp sent. Makes sense to me! The only flaw with the large image from this set is that I think all the flowers need defined centers, so I always just add them in using a Stampin' Write marker. Then all is right with the world. If only we could solve all the world's issues that easily! :)
